Show EMMA COPPER AFTER 1 HIGHER OK ORE Devices Will Be Installed to Screen and Sort Run of Mine. The following report of activities at the Emma Copper property was sent to the New York offices of thu company yesterday yes-terday by Manager J. J. Beeson: "The most important development, recorded re-corded at the Emma mine the past week has taken place on the third level from the Bay City shaft. .Some time ago a drift was started from the third level crosscut about 1;0 feet northeast of the Montezuma fault, or just below the ore body. The drift has been driven in a southeasterly direction, intersecting the location where the south shoot of the Emma ore body should be encountered. At a distance of thirty-thrc-c feet from the crosscut and northeasterly the fissure fis-sure was cut. "This fissure has now been followed about thirty-live ffet to the southwest, or far enough to phow that it is a separate sepa-rate ore channel from that which formed the north fork of the Emma ore bodies, which we are now mining. The most promising fen tu re of the nw fissure is that rjjie mineralization is represented by values in both silver and k-ad, thp lead being present as both carbonate and un-oxidized un-oxidized e-alena. "The fissure at present is represented 'by a width of from one to six inches of ! ore, but in the breccia ted con tact above should be a great. oal wider. If this fissure fis-sure continues to the "southwest it will chek up with the south fork nf the Emma ore body which was mined in the old workings. "The southerly limit of the north fork nf the Emma ore body has not been fully proven and it is quire likely tha t north and south shoots may intersect near the third level, and also at different points ; a Iiovp, as in the upper workings. Jf this proves to be the case it will add ma - j terialiy to the tonnage of ore above the third level. 'It is now believed that the finding of t he new fissure explains t he fa't that the ore body below thp third level exists ui a northeasterly direction, as proven by r he diamond drill holes. The apparent change in the course of the main ore body may ho explained by a separate shoot extending to th northeast. "Rom present indications it is more than likely ih;:t the ore below- rhe third level wil show -a n increased width for some distance and then form two separate sepa-rate ore shooTs. extending down the t hi ust fault, alone which all th1 ore in the Emma mine has thus far made. It is now expected that within the next :e;v weeks the development work whi-'h is now in orogress in th1 wm.c rMo'.v the Third level will prove the fuli dimensions dimen-sions of the ore below '. iird level and aiso show whether there are two ore "The d'amond drill proved the ore bod;.' at a !." -dsree inclined depth at eizhty-ri eizhty-ri v1 feet below the t hird level and for a width of at kast thirty i'cet. It is ex-r-ctd that when mining operations have bf-en carried to this point the ore wii! prove to be of much greater width. During Dur-ing the past week the management at the mhne has ben co-operating with S. Herz'.s. i-onsulting engineer, in innx-as-ina the e;'rh ieni-- ol" the o; --ra t in tr farce a i.I also making arra linemen t s for an eronomh-al production during the winter monM:s. "Plans are heircr formulate o that by certain srreentmr and sorting fhjies the trrade of the ore will be broi iL'ii t nn :;o thai the product i--n will b: represented i.v a sniiillrr tonnage, but of a higher ;rrade ore." |
