SlxJy t - " I U COSTE TO ENTER PUBLICITY WORLD Resigns From Brokerage Firm to Engage in Own Business. Guy R. L,& Coste has tendered his resignation resig-nation as director of publicity for the brokerage firm of Evans, 'Morris. & Whitney Whit-ney and has established the Utah Bureau : of Mines and Oils. Mr. La Goste has : established offices in the Exchange building: build-ing: and will conduct a general publicity business for mining and oil companies and brokers. Mr. Lh. Coste is a former newspaper , man. Prior to his association with Kvans. Morris & Whitney, he was city editor of the Salt Lake Telegram and had served as city editor of the Denver Post, as editorial edi-torial writer for the Kansas City Star and Sunday editor of , the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Also he is a successful author, his hook, "Thou Art the Man," published pub-lished by Dodd, Mead & Co., having reached its fourth edition. During his residence x- Colorado. Mr. La Coste served as private secretary to the late Charles J. Hughes, Jr.. when he was in the United States senate. Mr. La Coste has had a wide experience in publicity. In 1912 he was in charge of the publicity campaign of the national Progressive party, wjih headquarters at St. Louis, and later was made a member mem-ber of the Progressive national committee commit-tee by Colonel Roosevelt. He directed the puhlicity of the Waters-Pierce Oil , company when it succeeded in prevent - ing its, absorption by the Standard Oil, 1 and prior to coming to Salt Lake he was ; director of publicity for the Colorado Coal operators, which included the Colorado Fuel & Iron company, the Victor-American Fuel company and the Rocky Mountain Moun-tain Fuel company. |
