Corner grocery stores, schools, privnto individuals, business concerns of every sort, will be enlisted iu tho work, that Salt Lake and Utah may make a good showing in tho sale of stamps during December. The committee com-mittee has set $750,1)00 as tho amount to lie sold during this month that Utah 's record for war loan subscriptions subscrip-tions may bo kept up to standard, and nothing will be left undone bv the committee com-mittee to bring about realization of this end. To earrv on the campaign for securing secur-ing agencies, B. W. Mendenhall, chairman chair-man of the committee in charge of this work, has named tho following to look after the work: W. I). Brown, H. C. Evans, A. C. Recs, Staincr Richards, D. E. Hammond, It. H. Jones, H. A. Leipsiger, J. E. Bo3'er and P. "W. Pierce. W. D. Brown, local manager of tlie Prudential Life Insurance company, and II. 0. Evans, local manager of the Metropolitan Life, have offered to turn over their entire insurance soliciting force to tlie war savings committco to comb the outlying districts of tho city to secure selling agencies. These men will start upon this work Monday morning, and will devote their ontire time to it for the day and possibly longer. Wright Accepts. W. C. Wright of Ogden notified the state director, George T. Odell, yesterday yester-day that he will accept the chairmanship chairman-ship of the Weber county war savings , committee. Dwight Mateer of Magna has accepted ac-cepted the chairmanship of the committee com-mittee for the Garfield and Magna districts and yesterday afternoon held a conference with State Director Odel, State Chairman Collins and City Chairman Chair-man L. B. Hampton in Salt Lake. Mr. Mateer is enthusiastic aud he gave assurance as-surance that the thrift work in his district will be properly taken care of. Announcement was made at state headquarters yesterday that every high school in the state of Utah will become a selling agency for war and thrift stamps and many of the other schools will also sell the stamps. A letter received yesterday bv Mr. Odell from H. D. Marshall of the national na-tional war savings committee announces that in manv of the schools of tlie country the ''War Savings Primer" is being introduced and used as a reading primer and that many schools are using problems based upon war savings subjects in their mathematical classes. An effort will be made by Mr. Odell to have tlie same plan inaugurated aud used in the schools of Ttali. Postoffices Supplied. A letter from Orson Ryan of Carbon eountv vesterday assured Mr. Odell that Mr. Ryan will accept the chairmanship of the' committee for that county and he added that Carbon county may be counted upon to take its full quota of stamps. There are :i57 postoffices in Utah and it was reported to the state committee com-mittee yesterday that stamps are now on sale "at every one of these. The plan of having business concerns make Christinas presents to their employees em-ployees in the form of war savings certificates and thrift stamps cards is being worked out fully by the state ' committee and it is expected that this plan will result in the distribution of many certificates and stamps. The same plan is being worked out in connection con-nection with the payment of bonuses to their employees by the larger corporations cor-porations of the state which are, accustomed accus-tomed to paying bonuses once a year in the form of cash. Walter Fitch, chairman of the Tintic district, yesterday notified the state committee of the appointment of the following men as members of the committee com-mittee in bis district: P. J. Fennel, L.
