Show KING WILL OPPOSE OIL LEASING BILL W ASHTXGTOK. Dee. 15. Senator William IT. King lias secured appointments appoint-ments in the federal service for the following fol-lowing I'tnh young men: State department. de-partment. A. ITougard, Manti; eapitol service Frank B. Anderson and Lester Wood, Salt Lake City. Senator King expects the senate will pass the oil land leasing bill next week, with the provision eliminated giving preferential leasing rights to holders of oil lands within the naval oil reserves in California. Senator King says he will oppose the bill, as he does not believe be-lieve in the leasing principle and he will offer as a substitute, his own bill ceding ail of the remaining public lands to the states. He does not exnect to secure favorable action on his hill, as there is a general disposition to pass the leasng bill. |
