Of these, two, the industrial and public utilities commissions, will be entirelv now organizations in the state government, while the land hoard is to be now only in its membership. I-t has been known for some days that Arthur Kuhn of Ogden is to be secretary secre-tary 'of the land board, and yesterday he 'filed with the secretary of state for transmission to the board of examiners for approval a surety bond for $500,000, required of the secretary of the board in addition to a bond ior $10,000 as a member of the board. The premium on i the secretary's bond amounts to $1250 a venr, which, it is understood, will be paid bv the state. Heretofore the bonds' of the secretary have been signed by banking houses where state funds have been on deposit. It is generally understood that this practice prac-tice ib to be'stopped and that the state will pay for the secretary's bond and that the banks which aro given the funds of the state land board on deposit de-posit will pay interest to the state on the amount. ' Tho state land hoard at the present time has approximately $1,400,000 on deposit in several of the banks of the Btnte. The industrial commission will organize or-ganize Monday and elect a president in addition to the formal naming of Frank D. Brown a? secretary.
