Show 1 COMMUNICATION f Sets Socialists Right. Editor Tribune; Being a Socialist for fifteen years, I wish to take Issue with Comrade C. T. Stoney, state secretary of Utah, 'Socialist, wherein he states I have better use for my sons than to give them to a country which belongs neither to them nor to me. I regret very much to learn that comrade com-rade secretary made such a statement, because It will convey tho idea to the people through your paper that all Socialists So-cialists think and (eel the same as he, which I think. Is far from the truth. On the contrary, I think the resolution signed by Comrades Sinclair and Charles Edward Russel and other leading Socialists Social-ists of New York City more nearly represents repre-sents the sentiments of the Socialists. At least I hope so. And I think that every member of this great nation should feel that they are a part of our government and should stand behind the president In this crisis and present to the world a united people. As for me, I am proud to state that my sec-ond son. Dewey, has .ioined the navy and is at the naval training station at San Francisco, and. using his own words, being prepared to assist in the defense of the homes and firesides of the nation that gave him birth. And for once, st least my wife and I feel as though we are. a part of these United States, and we feel as though we belong to this country, and that our son is the link that connects us to tile greatest government on earth, and be" is proud of the part he is taking in this nation, as we are proud of him. and this In spito of the fact that he. like us his parents, is. a Socialist. Still, we love and admire and respect the president and will support him In any steps; he may take as well as any Democrat or Republican Repub-lican In this nation, so far as it is in our power to do so. And, dear editor, all my relatives are Socialists, but none approve the statement of State Secietary Comrade C T Stonev and it von would publish tiiis 'statement I would thank you very nU!' regular subscriber of your paper.
