Show ASK FOR SUPPORT OF PREPAREDNESS Telegrams Favoring Compulsory Service Sent to Utah's Kepresentatlves in Congress by Salt Lakers. Appealing to Utah 's representatives in congress to use their influence and to vote for universal training and compulsory com-pulsory service legislation, Carl A. Badger and Dr. J. U. Giesy; on behalf of the citizens'1 military training camp, vesterday sent telegrams to Senators tteed Smoot and William H. King, and Representatives J. H. Mays and M. H. Welling. The telegrams said the honor and safety of the nation depended upon the organization of a large body of trained citizen soldiers. A communication was received yesterday yester-day by the Fort Douglas Training Camp association from S. M. Spalding, executive execu-tive secretary of the western department depart-ment of the military training camps of the United States, asking all training camp men to exert every influence possible pos-sible during this week to prevent the rejection by congress of universal military mili-tary training. It is urged that the training camp men wire the president and persuade others to do likewise. |
