Show WOULD NOT ALLOW FARMERS TO ENLIST CITTCAGO, March 30. Contending that the food supply of the nation would be threatened if agricultural workers were withdrawn from the fields to military campSj C. W, Holman, secretary sec-retary of the National Agricultural so-j so-j ciety, today declared that farmer:: should not be allowed to enlist even it a call for 1,000,000 men is issued. Mr. Holman spoke at the luncheon of the City club and explained his objection objec-tion to the enlistment of farmers and that the withdrawal of any considerable consider-able number of young men from the ru-! ru-! ral districts would show a correspond-I correspond-I ing decrease in the grain and foodstuffs food-stuffs grown on American fields. |
