Show SEEK ADJUSTMENT OF FREIGHT RATES Traffic Bureau Officials Leave for Capital Cap-ital to Appear Before Commission. In an effort to obtain for Utah an adjustment of freight rates which will inure to the benefit of all the industries in the state, Stephen H. Love, president; W. S. McCarthy, vice president, and H. W. Prickett, traffic manager of the traffic traf-fic service bureau of Utah, left for Washington yesterday to appear before the interstate commerce commission next week. If the commission decides in favor of the intermountain section, according to Mr. Prickett, it means that many industries in-dustries will be drawn from the coast and locate here. The commission will be asked to order that transcontinental rates shall apply to Salt Lake City, which means that it will cost no more to ship a- carload of freight from the east to Salt Lake than it would if sent through to the coast. In the opinion of the delegation which j left here yesterday the fight marks a ; stand for fair recognition lor Utah. |
