Show Woodruff Starred. HEXRY WOODRUFF, the Rtnr of the Jnee-Triangle drama, "Tho Beckoning Flame," is well known for his noticeable achievements on tha legitimate stage. He started with a juvenile company in "H. M. 8. Pinafore Pina-fore ' ' at Haverlv s Fourteenth Street theater, Xew York, in 1870. He played many roles before he entered Harvard university in 1803. After four years of college life. Woodruff took part in many notable productions. He achieved 'the most fame, perhaps, as the star of ''Brown of Harvard" and "Tho Prince of Tonight." These plavs had very successful runs for a munher of months in iew York. Tho star also toured the country in the same productions. produc-tions. Tsuru Aoki, the pretty Japanese act-. rosy who plays very effectively tho role of a young Indian girl of high rank, was born in Japan. Her parents brought her to this country when tdia was a baby. Her education was received re-ceived in the Pasadena public schools, after which she took a college course. Miss Aoki achieved a national reputa-tion reputa-tion by her work in "The Wrath of th Gods'1 and, a number of two-reel plays. Her role as Jauira in "The Reckoning Flame," it is said, is as effective as that of Cho-Cho-San in "Madame Butterfly." |
