V. C, it seems, that for one reason or another, an-other, neither of the Ijouhii coaches has been able to arrange for ames, mostly most-ly on arvoiinf e.f swine iLifiicuUy at the two schools. The Montana Allies were, contemplating a tour or Utah and Jia- i ho and had arranged to play both the i Utah Afcie aud the H. V.' C. at Lo- 1 gan, but, for some reason link now n here, were obliticd to call off Hie trip. This threw both schools out. and they have nor been able to arrange any good , gamo since, 1 Coach Jenson of tl'C B. Y. ("'. is won- ; tiering if his boys will get into playing ' form, but he says they have improved j of late. In pra ft ice every night they ! play rings around the strong hich school team, but when they meet a teRin from the outside they show no ability that would do justice to a college five. The B. Y. C boys have no game? in sight until they journey son t n . which will bo the latter part of next week. Jenson does not look very optimistically optimistical-ly upon the tour, as he will meet up with the strong L'tah team and he aUo thinks that F'rovo will be a dark liorse, and spring a surprise, as ho thing has been heard of them yet this ye?!'. The B. V. I', lineup will'cnnsist of Nielson, Co.T and Bern I soa a t f orwa nip. ; Wngh t at center and Captain "Williams. Tol-man Tol-man and t)unn at 'sards. Inchuled in this string may be flail. Keeley nud Allen Al-len from the high school team. Aggies at Work. The Aggies show up fairly well in practice, but. have yet to test their lability against a strong team. Coach I Ofstie will meet Ihis situation, however, how-ever, when he lines up his farmer hoopers hoop-ers against Jenson 's Li. Y. C. lads. This game is always the biggest, of the year in Logan, as the rivalry between the two colleges is verv strong and enthusiasm en-thusiasm fairly bubbles over, and on some occasions in the past the Logan police force has been reinforced and or-i tiered to the scene of turmoil. The : team that loses the game usually wants , to show their supremacy at the pugilistic pugilis-tic art. This year the battle promises prom-ises to be even aud which shall win is but a tossup. judging from the team , playiug thus far. Coach Ofstie has been drilling the . rudiments of teamwork into the farmers farm-ers and insists that they still luck the necessary harmony of action. Tho Aggies Ag-gies are accurate when it comos to , shooting1 tho ball in the hoop and will be a finished product when they acquire ac-quire some speed ou the floor. Promising Players. Captain Kapple, Johnson, McMuIlan and Twitchel have first chances to play forwards, with McBride, Smith, Stoddard Stod-dard as runners-np. Witwear and Peterson Peter-son are a bit slow at center, according accord-ing to Ofstie, and he may yet send Kapple to the pivot position if the others oth-ers do not speed up. Maughan, Voor-hies, Voor-hies, Price, Greener and .Jenson will make a formidable array from which the coach can select his guards. The Aggies play an .all-star team from Lewiston next week, which is the only contest they could rake up. Wrestling Instructor Dave Jones is well pleased with the showing of his young grapplers. This is the first year that a wrestling coach has been used at the A. C. and the men are taking advantage of the opportunity, as Jones has a wealth of mat dope to give them. He contemplates arranging matches with the B. Y. C. and possibly with the Descrct gym crowd. |
