Show ' . BBF To the Public- .A great many orders have bcea placed for the .' new Hudson Super-Six during the past two weeks by men who already own automobiles. , ..-We have neither room nor facilities in our pros-. pros-. "ent plant to; handle these used cars, but to anyone any-one interested in the purchase of a used ear of Jtlf any style or kind, we will furnish a list of a number of owners who will sell now at prices .1 very advantageous to the buyer. We. will also give you an exact and complete I report of. the condition of any one of these used cars, in which, upon investigation, you may be-. be-. cpme interested. A .situation is rapidly taking -shape in the automobile world to which we wish to draw the attention of all prospective purchasers of motor cars. Judging by the actual sales of our first two weeks on the new Hudson Super-Six, we will not have enough of the new Hudsons this year to supply the demand, nor can we count on securing enough. The Hudson company has al tempted to arrange to increase its present year's output to 40,000, instead of 30,000 cars originally planned, but has had to abandon the effort because the war has so increased the cost j of materials that the price of additional cars, j made from 'niaterials secured under new addi- j tional contracts, would have to be increased I $200 each, and' this would create endless mis-understandings mis-understandings and confusion. To the public we wish to say, with no personal motive whatever, that unless the war ends, the price of all automobiles for which materials have not already been contracted, will very probably increase. This would mean that most of next year's cars will cost more than this year's. Podge Bros, have been offered a million dollars, dol-lars, cash, for their aluminum contract within the past inoirtih and refused it. Many makers of parts have notified us this month of increases amounling to as much as 40 per cent. j ' ! These are examples of what is transpiring now j with impressive rapidity among the larger auto- 1 mobile interests. If the war is to continue, we advise any man who expects to buy any kind of car, new or old. to buy it now. ; THE TOM BOTTERILL j AUTOMOBILE CO. j M-J2 State Street.
