Show UTAH CBS WILL GO TO DiGMEEIK Convention at Louisville, Ky., Is to Include Three Great Organizations. Plans for attending the National Canncrs' association convention at Louisville, Ky., next month, were discussed dis-cussed yesterday at a meeting of the Utah Canners' association, held at tho Commercial club. It was decided that the Utah delegation would attend the national convention in a body and charter char-ter a special car, decorated for the occasion, occa-sion, from Salt Lake to Louisville. A stop of a few hours will be made in Denver, and it is planned to stop one day in Omaha and two days in Chicago on the way to the convention. The bi gathering will be a three-cornered at-fair, at-fair, three of the national organizations connected with the canning industry meeing in joint conference. The organizations organ-izations are the National Canners' association, as-sociation, the National Canned Goods Brokers' association and the National Canning Machinery association. The convention will be held February 7 to 12, inclusive. The date for the departure de-parture of the Utah delegation and the route to be used were not decided at the meeting. Among those from Utah who expect to attend the Louisville convention are; W. J. Parker of the Parker Canning company and president of the Utah Canners' Can-ners' association, H. L. Herriugton of tho Utah Canning company anil secre-tarv secre-tarv of the Utah Canners' association, J. L. "Pierce of the Brigham City Canning company, U. G. Miller of the Twin Pen lis Canning company, J. G. M. Barnes of the Kaysville Canning corporation, Richard Stringham of the Woods Cross Canning company. James A. and Joseph Anderson of the Morgan Canning company, com-pany, V illiatn ftudiger of the Brewer Canneries company. William Craig of William Craig & Sons Canning company com-pany and Gago Rodman of the Salt Lake valley Canning company. Several of the delegates will be accompanied by their wives. A dozen or moro buyers for Utah wholesale houses are expected to accompany the Utah canners on the tr i p. During tho meeting yesterday a resolution reso-lution was adopted to the .effect that Utah canners, in so far as possible, should purchase all supplies from Utah dealers and whenever possible insist upon Utah mado goods. After the meeting Secretary H. L. Hemngton declared de-clared that practically all supplies necessary, nec-essary, with the possible exception of box shocks, are now being manufactured in Utah. The box shocks, although coming principally from the northwest, are manufactured through the medium of Utah capital and are sold by Utah dealers. The only drawback heretofore has been labels, and it was announced vesterday that the Scoville Printing & Wper company of Ogden had arranged to print all labels necessary, beginning next season. |
