Show NEGRO PASTORS IN NEED OF TRAINING Increasing Distrust of White Race in South Is Set Forth in Keport to Church Council. ST. LOUIS, Mo., Dec. 7. An increas-, ing distrust of the white race on theA part of negroes is set forth in the report of the committee on negro churches presented pre-sented to the Federal Council of Churches of Christ late today. The report emphasizes the necessity of leadership on the part of the white churches of the south, and says that the negro churches need better trained pastors. pas-tors. On the part of the negroes, says the report, there is a growing contempt of the religion and sense of justice of the white man, but the committee expresses its belief that the social conscience of the south is astir. The committee said there were indications indi-cations of moral progress on the part of the negro, and that his home and church life was improving. Efforts for the social and economic advancement 1 of the negro, the report stated, are in- j ereasingly successful. - I |
