Show AL TEARNEY WANTS LEAGUES TO MEET CHICAGO. Dec. 7. President A. R. Tearney of the Threivl league, in an appeal ap-peal Issued tonight o presidents of minor leagues throughout the country, and presidents of all clubs, urged that a special spe-cial meeting of the National Association of Professional Baseball leagues be called to perfect legislation which might relieve the financial condition of minor leagues. Mr. Tearney believes that certain leagues, principally the Western, Central, Three-1 and the Central association, should be red 1st ric ted so that the question of mileage would not be such an Important Impor-tant factor. Salaries paid ball players, ho said, are exorbitant. The remedy for this situation, he believes, lies in the reclassification re-classification of the leagues and a new salary limit agreed upon. |
