Show EAST HIGH JUNIORS WIN OVER SENIORS The first set of the East high school intei-class basketball series was plaved yesterday before a large crowd of noisy rooters. The first contest was a speedy tussle between the juniors and seniors and ended with Ihe score 17 to 12 in favor of the juniors, and the next one came out 10 to 3. with the sophomores on the long end of. the score over the freshmen. A hard fight was put up between the upper classmen, as both te:i ms were evenly matched and determined to beat their rivals for the ehampionshin. The juniors started out from (he first witli several tallies in succession and had a good lead on their opponents before the seniors found themselves and got their teamwork going. Close gunrding kept both rives from scoring during the rest of the period. With a defeat In sight, the seniors began ihe second half with a rush that evened up I he score, but they could not keep up the fast pace, and several sev-eral pretty baskets by the juniors at the last moment took victory out of the seniors' reach. The individual slar in this fray was Blaine Wilson of the seniors, who was i he only man on his team who found the basket to advantage. Ho played the tloor wol! and threw some spectacular counters from difficult ancles. Close guarding was tho feature of the third-year men's attack. Poor teamwork was to Name for the low result of the- sophomore-fresh m;j n game, as each man would t ry to work the hnll down the tlonr by himself.
