Show CORPORATION HELP HELD RESPONSIBLE CHICAGO, Dec. 7. Employees or public pub-lic service corporations, as well aa those who invest their money in public service undertakings, should be held responsible to the public, in the opinion of Theodore P. iShonts. president of the Interborough Rapid Transit company of New York, as expressed in an address tonight before the Illinois Manufacturers' association. "The public service corporation." Mr. Shonts said, "has a moral, legal and financial responsibility to the community, while the workingman of that corporation at present has no enforceable responsibility responsi-bility to the community of any kind. ! "No man is compelled to invest his i money in a railroad or electric light company; com-pany; but the public says to him, once he has invested, he mint allow the conduct con-duct of his investment to be regulated by public interest. So no one is compelled to accept employment with a public service corporation, but if a person does enter en-ter the employ of such an institution, ought not the public say to him : 'You cannot join with your fellow workmen in interrupting the public service.'
