During the spring season they fought it out for the honor of becoming the regular for the Rrowns. Iast year Johnson performed similar duty for tiie St. Louis Feds. Toward tho end of the trainfng season Johnson sprained an ankle. There was no doctor in the vicinity except Dr. Lsivan. He rendered first aid to the Injured In-jured and then in a grave way advised his patient thusly: "My dear sir, your injury is serious very, very serious. My advice to you is to take a complete rest, for six months at leaat. Furthermore, I think you should leave St. Louis." And Johnson merely grinned. |
