Show ISLTICEKITO USE M SITS Will Continue Present Tunnel Tun-nel to Cut Ore-bearing Fissures. Although ai-tive mining operations have not as yet. been started on the Alta j Gerniauia. property, located in the Little i Cottonwood district, a vigorous development devel-opment campaign has been outlined by the niannemeiit, and it is expected that this TvorU" will be started not later than May 10. The first piece of work to be "undertaken will be in the Dominie tunnel. This tunnel is now in a distance dis-tance of l-f fret. Tt has been driven iu a northwesterly ! direction to cut the Sidney and the- Dry burg fsures, which will be cut at - a dopi'n or" about ;.iUU feet on the vertical j from the. surface. Tho management expects ex-pects that the Sidney fissure will be cut within 200 feet of driving and that the Drvburg fissure will be encountered in abo'ut 300 feet of driving. Three shifts of miners will be started on the property, and tho work will be pushed ahead aa rapidly as possible. The principal" fissure that traverser the property is the Germania, which the breast of the tunnel has just barely reached. The Gerniauia fissure is inter-; inter-; sected by both the Sidney and the Dry-burg Dry-burg fissures, which strike north 35 degrees east, while .the Germania fissure strikes north 70 degrees east. As soon as the tunnel has crosscut the Germania fissure the course of the tunnel will be changed slightly and the Gorman La fissure will be followed to its point of intersection with the Sidney Sid-ney and the Dryburg fissures, and also to' the point where they intersect the overthrust contact. |
