INTERESTED crowds alongXain street last night examined the Chalmers Chal-mers six-thirty which distinguished itself last week by climbing under its own power to the very top of Ensign En-sign peak. The machine was exhibited in front of the American theater. The remarkable feat was performed under the direction of C. A. Quigley, distributor in this territory for the Chalmers. Chal-mers. For several nights" the lights of the machine could be seen from all parts of the city, and in the day time the automobile au-tomobile itself stood beside the flagpole on the peak to prove that the climb nad been successfully negotiated. As a further proof of the fact that the machine made the climb under its own power, indisputable evidence will be presented at the American theater today m the form of motion pictures. A moving picture photographer accompanied accom-panied the car on the trip, and photographed photo-graphed the most thrilling parts of the climb, and the pictures will be exhibited exhibit-ed today. |
