Show SIX CONSOLIDATED RESUMESDPERATIDKS Lessees Operating on Property Prop-erty Have Exposed Three Feet of Ore. Prank RozeHe and W. D. Loo?? have made a number of shipments from their Ip.ieo at tho Sioux Consolidated, and at present have a n:e shoeing of silver-lead silver-lead ore, says the Eureka Reporter. They have the privilege of working in anv" part of the property, but their lea sin operations are not to interfere with the campaign of development work which the mining company has just la.keo up. Tue company '? fore was jiut-to -work ypsterday, and' the tiv-k work will be to Continue" the drift, which already has been driven a considerable distance to the east of the old ore zone. This drift is located on the 600 level, and it is understood un-derstood that 200 or 300 feet or work will take it to the point where the Iron Blossom 's copper deposit should make through the bioux ground. It is hardly likely that the copper ore will be found f0 on the Sioux's HuO level, but there should be some favorable indications at that depth, and when these indications are found sinking of a winze will start. In the Iron Blossom the copper ore was first located on the 300 level, although al-though there were some good indications indica-tions above this level, but the main portion of the ore was not found until a depth of about 1000 feet had been attained. , A new ore deposit has just been encountered en-countered in the Gold Chain mine, and while it has not' been developed to any extent, everything goes to show that it , will be an important discovery for this company. The ore was located near . the line of the Don Pedro claim, which is owned jointly by the Gold Chain and the Mammoth, but up to this time it sems to be making over into the main portion of the Gold Chain ground. The Gold Chain and Mammoth companies each have an undivided one-half interest inter-est in the Don Pedro claim, which has already produced some excelle-nt ore, and if the strike which the former company has just made should extend over into this claim both companies will be benefited. bene-fited. . VV. "D. Loose, the manager of the Gold Chain, says that the ore was encountered en-countered iu a raise which has been driven from the 700 level, and that the values are in copper, gold and silver. Recent assays show from 3 to 10 per cent copper, and some of the samples have carried, a large amount of gold and sil ver. A short time ago Walter Fitch, Jr., who is contracting development work in a number of local mines, was awarded a contract for a large amount of drifting drift-ing in the Iron Blossom property. Manager Man-ager William Knight, pleased with the unusual progress made, has given Mr. !FUeh a contract for a similar piece of work in the Beck Tunnel mine. In the Iron Blossom the contractor is making between live and six feet each shift, which means that the drift is being driven at the rate of ten to twelve feet per day, and this rapid work is especially espe-cially pleasing to Mr. Knight, who is anxious to connect the No. 1 and No. 3 workings at a depth of 1700 feet, making mak-ing connection with the new copper deposit, de-posit, in order that this ore may be handled more rapidly, with less expense. The contract at the Beck Tunnel calls for a large amount of new work on the 1100 level, whero a drift is to be driven to the south on the vein. Mr. Fitch made a trip to Palt Lake this week to purchase new equipment which will be needed in handling this job, which is to be taken up without delay. E. F. Birch, the assistant manager of the Knifjht mines, states that the company's com-pany's torce will continue to operate 1 the 900 level of the Beck Tunnel, where a cross-cut drift is being driven. |
