The game from the llrst was rough, both teams going Into it "for fair." and tho rooters went wild with overy exciting play that happened In the game. The game commenced at I o'clock, and from the first shriek of the whistle both teams started tho "rough stuff" In such a- swift way that Referee "Happy Holm-stead Holm-stead was working as hard as any man on the floor to follow the plays. Hawley for the high school landed the first basket, bas-ket, but two fouls called on the high school were pitched by Lund for the "Saints," tying the score, and for the first ten minutes of play the "Saints kept hi tho lead by just two or three points. Hawley for the high school boys landed a couple- of pretty field baskets that tied the two teams on a score of 10 to 10. Here tho high school boys seemed to loso grip on the game, and by the end of the first half the "Saints had piled up a score of 17 to 11 against them. An interesting feature of the game was tho rooting between halves, the "Saints holding one side of the gym and the high school boys the other. Vociferous shouts and sarcastic repartee camo from both sides, with tho result that the spectators were kept in a roar during the whole Intermission. With the beginning of the second halt the L. D. S. boys came back strong and pitched field baskets from every corner of ths field. The game was even rougher in the- second half than in the first half, but tho referee was after the rough men. with tho result that fifteen fouls were called on each side during the half. In the pitching of field basket? the L. D. S. boys haxl it over the high school, managing manag-ing to pitch nine as against five field throws by tho high school. As for the stars of the game. Lund of L. D. S. did the classiest pitching of the- game, petting two in the second half from way back of the center line of the field, getting four field baskets during the game and landing twenty out of thirty chances from the foul line. Howe at center for tho "Saints" also played a great game, getting It .over Mclntyre on the jump the' greater part of the- time and landing four field baskets as well. For the high school. Rydalch played a. star game, getting three field baskets and sixteen out of twenty-five free shots from the foul line. Hawley seemed to have his Jonah day. for ho was covered so closciy that he got away for only ono field basket during the game. Ward and Wilson at guards played a hard game, but were so rough that the referee was k6pt busy watching their fouls. By winning the game Wednesday afternoon after-noon the "Saints" will hold the undisputed undis-puted championship of tho Salt Lako high school division and will play the games In the stato tournament, which will begin be-gin tonight in the Y.
