Lom-ell, Lom-ell, the Mexican consul at El Paso, has complained to the Mexican government of Indignities offered to himself and his family by persons whom ho believes to be Americans. Senor Lomoll s;lys that ho first complained of the treatment to Mayor Kelly of El Paso and getting no reply, then referred the trouble to authorities at Mexico City. The annoyances, according to the consul, con-sul, occurred on tho night of February 21, when near midnight, a crowd of men awakened his family by shouting "Viva Madcro," "Viva Orozco." and "Death to Diaz." outside his residence in this city. "Tho crowd was composed of Americans." Ameri-cans." said Senor Lomell, "for I could tell by the way they pronounced Spanish names. On this boat, they safd, they crossed from Mexico. Mex-ico. The ofllcer secured statements from several persons that the house where the boys were arrested Is on American soil. Thomas Lamadrld, a Mexican lawyer of this city, who has been retained to defend Harry C. Dell, arrived from Ensonada today. Senor Lamadrld said that Dell Is charged with being an Insurgent, spv and thai he issued 80ditlous language against the Mexican government. The maximum penalty for either offonso Is twelve vcars' imprisonment, In the case of conviction before n civil tribunal. Senor Landidrid stated that under the civil laws of Mexico Dell will lie tried before be-fore a civil tribunal within three months. He Is confident that the prisoner will be acquitted on each charge.
