Ilaggin of tho Elmdorf farm in Kentucky, tho largest breeder of raco-horscs raco-horscs in tho world, ia shipping in tho largest consignment today in breeding stock to bo sold in Germany and France. Tho othor horsos aro sent by turfmen of this countr' to bo raced abroad and to be used for breeding purposes. pur-poses. Among tho prominent shippers are John E. Madden, 11. P. Duryca, Joseph Jo-seph E. Widencr, F. Ambroso Clark and II. E. Leigh. Mr. Madden 's horses, consisting of twonty-four selected marcs, are bound for England, from whero they will bo shipped later to Franco. Tho Durvca horses, including tho famous stallion Irish Lad, will go to a brooding farm in southorn France, whero Mr. Duryea has alrond- Bent a number of flno mares. Tho Widoner string will bo raced in Franco, whilo tho Clark bunch go to England for hunting and racing during tho winter season. There had been reports that Mr. Mnd-den Mnd-den would ship today his crack two-year-old colt Sir Martin, ono of tho entries en-tries for tho Epsom Dorby next year, but it is said that tho colt will bo shipped on Saturday next. |
