Show HARRIMAN IS ADDING- J LARGELY TO EQUIPMENT PORTLAND. Or., Dec. 5. Anticipating Anticipat-ing an entirely unprecedented period of prosperity in -the northwest for the coming year, the Uarriman inierests have placed orders for additional freight equipment, valued at $1,250,000, for the Oregon Railroad & Navigation company. Tho new order consists of 1000 fifty -ton box cars, and the deliveries de-liveries will begin some time in January. Jan-uary. Official announcement to this effect was made by General Manager J. P. O'Brien, of tho Uarriman lines in this territor3' today. This substantial addition to the rolling roll-ing stock of tho Oregou Railroad & Navigation company is oxclusivo of the $2,000,000 requisition of Mr. O'Brien's, which was honored about two months ago, and will mean that the new equipment, equip-ment, which will be added tho lines under un-der his jurisdiction will reach the enormous enor-mous total of $3,250,000 for this one year. |
