Dec. f, The marriage of Miss Harriot Markham Nicholson of Chicago and James Davidson Shaw of thl3 city toolc place on Wednesday at tho homo of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Nicholson, at 3150 Park avenue. Chicago. Tho ceremony was performed by Rov. Jenkln Lloyd, pastor of All Souls church. Chicago. Miss Helen M. Stowell of Chicago was maid of honor and Henry S. Schnell, former principal of the Lewis school, Ogden, now of Milwaukee, "v Is., was best man. Among the former Ogden Og-den people who were In attendance were Miss May Hume, Miss Nell Bcnnott, M. O. Blakeslee. E. G. Noursc and L. B. Austin. Mrs. F. N. Hess, sister of the groom, was also present. The bride is a sister of Mrs. F. J. Curtis of Salt Lake City. It was during a visit to Salt Lake City that" she met Mr. Shaw. Her father Is a prominent contractor and builder, and onc'of the oldest residents of the south side, Chicago. Mrs. Shaw has a beautiful contralto voice and Is noted as a church soloist In Chicago. The groom Is a son of Rev. Frank Shaw of this city and is chief clerk to the auditor of dining car and hotel accounts of the Harrlman lines of this city. After a short wedding wed-ding trip through tho cast tho young couplo will return to Ogden and will make their homo at 739 Twenty-fourth street, where they will be at home to their friends after January 1- One of tho largo social events for next week will bo the reception and ball given In honor of John L. Kerrlck by the officers of-ficers of tho Weber stake, at the Weber academy on Wednesday evening. In the study hall a musical entertainment will bo given, and In the lecture room there will be dancing for those who deslro to dance. Light refreshments will be Borved during tho evening and the different committees are working assiduously to mako of tho evening ono of plcasuro for-all. Tho marriage of Miss Helen Cecil Whoclor of St. Joseph, Mo., and Rankin A. Mclntyrc of Ogden took place Wednesday, Wednes-day, November 25. at tho Christ Episcopal church In St. Joseph. Only relatives were present at tho service at 7 o'clock, the Rev. Henry Eckel officiating. Preceding Pre-ceding tho entranco of the bridal party, William T. Mars of St. Louis, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Mary Rich Lyon, sang "Wlthont Thee." by Guy d'Hnrdelot, and for tho processional Mrs. Lyon played the wedding march from "Lohengrin." During Dur-ing the ceremony Mendelssohn's "Spring Song" was played. John Combo, Jr., was best man. and tho ushers were Glan Mclntyre of Clarence, Mo., brother of the bridegroom, and Silas Wheeler, brother of the bride. Miss Wheeler entered the church with her father, who gave her away. Following the ceremony a reception, recep-tion, to which 200 persons wore bidden, .was hold at the Wheeler residence, from S to 10 o'clock. The bridal party stood beneath a largo bell of southern smllax and orchids. The mantel In the drawing room was banked with yellow chrysanthemums, chrysan-themums, and the yellow shaded chandeliers chande-liers woro entwined with smllax and tied with largo bows of white tulle. The decorations deco-rations In the parlor were In Klllarney roses, palms and ferns, with tho lights shaded In pink. In tho reception hall, which was fragrant with Richmond roses, an orchestra, screened by palms, played throughout tho evening. Green and white were the prevailing colors In the dining room, bride's roses, hyacinths and lilies of the valley being used. The bride wore a gown of Ivory satin, made empire, with court train. She carried a shower bouquet bou-quet of bride's roses. Her golng-away gown was gray broadcloth, with hat to match. Mr. and Mrs. Mclntyre returned to Ogden this week and will mako their homo here. State Senator and Mrs. E. T. Tlulan-Iskl Tlulan-Iskl were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Wood In Salt Lake City during the , past week. Fred J. Klesel has gono to Sacramento ; for a short visit there with his son. Mrs. Florcnco O. Stamford and sis- ' tcr. Miss O'Neill, were Salt Luke visitors . during the week. J Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Harrison of Butte spent a few days in Ogden during tho past week with friends". Mrs. Henry Gwllllam entertained the membors of tho Child Culture club on Tuesday afternoon. Tho largest social ovent of tho week was the dance given by tho Weber club on Friday evening at the Congress dancing danc-ing academy. Miss Florence Merrill entertained twenty twen-ty of her young friends on Tucsdny evening even-ing to meet her guest. Miss Margaret Hadlcy of Salt Lake City. Decorations of pink and white chrysanthemums prevailed. pre-vailed. High five was the game of tho evening, and prizes were won by Miss Rowe, Miss Hadlcy and I3rnest Nlcholls. Mrs. G. A. Woodruff entertained at cards on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edwards, accompanied accom-panied by their niece, Miss Mnudo Edwards, Ed-wards, matron of the Ogden General hospital, hos-pital, left during tho week for a Ilvo months' tour of Europe, most of the time to bo spent In England and Switzerland. Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Tyreo entertained Informally during the week, In -honor of Miss Edna Mao Ridley of Alameda, Cal.t and Miss Edna Carter of Sacramento. L. B, Spencer spent a few days In Ogden Og-den during the early part of tho week, en route from Nevada to St. Louis. Mrs. M. II. Kllgoro of Lakeside spent a few days In Ogden during the week, visiting friends. Mrs. E. Huntsman has returned from a visit with relatives In Salt Lake City and Garfield. One of the events of the week In which society played an Important part was the charity bazaar held bv the ladles of the Martha society, which was given for the purpose of ralshfg money for the relief fund. Tho affair- proved quite a success and was largely attended, both afternoons and evenings. Miss Dcss Spencer was tho geust of Mr. and Mrs. J. Rigby at Coalvlllo on Wednesday and Thursday. Mr. and Mrs, Frank S. Price announce the engagement of their daughter, Bertha Lconore. to Ralph 5. Corlew. the marriage mar-riage to take place In the near future. MIso Ethel Orth and brother, Elwood Orth, left Thursday afternoon for a visit to Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Newhouse of Salt Lako City spent Friday in Ogden. tho guests of Messrs.
