Roper'a Inability to turn t out a winning eleven for Old Nassau has stirred up tho prldo of several promlnont members of tho alumni, who assert that Princoton must have a team to conquer Us old enemy, Yale, at any cost. Ropor has dono valiant aervlco for Princeton, and ho will step out from the position he served so faithfully with tho good will of students and graduates. With Roper's resignation in sight, the question of tho hour Is, "Who will be his successor?" There arc two names mentioned for the Job. Stagg, the famous old Yalo pitcher, now coach of tho Chicago, Chi-cago, and Hurry-Up Bill Yost of Michigan. Mich-igan. Stngg Is the favorite for the Job and Is expected to land the plum. Yost has many admirers her', but his failure to turn out a winner at Ann Arbor Is against him In some quarters. It Is admitted, ad-mitted, however, YoBt would have had hotter luck In his efforts to mold an eleven which could beat Pennsylvania had he the matorial to use. There has always been a scarcity of gridiron talent at Ann Arbor, and for this reason Yost has always boon up against a stiff problem. prob-lem.
