Mullen arrived in Ogdcn -from Salt Lake Gity and requested an officer to accompany him to the homo of A. J. f.j Brown. 2720 Monroe avenue, to sco his wife and their child for a few moments mo-ments beforo ho loft them forover. Tho story as told an officer by Mr. Mullen is pathetic. Five years no, ho scys, ho aud his wife wcro residing in Kan- f:is happily together. "Without provo cation. Mullen declares, his wife left their home, coming to this city to livo with her father, A. .T. Brown. After searching for her for sovcral months, he located his wifo and child hero aud persuaded her to return to him. This she agreed to do, and they took up their residenco in Salt Lako last summer, sum-mer, where they lived until a week ago, when Mullen says his wifp again deserted de-serted him, returning to this city with their child. Before leaving, he says, she drew all of his monoy from a Salt Lake bank, together with a check for $27n which she brought with her bore. Crushed iu spirit and complotcly discouraged dis-couraged over further effort to effect a reconciliation. Mullen. came to Ogdcn and with an officer went to tho homo of his wife's brother to say goodby bo-foro bo-foro he returned to his old homo in Kansas. Before leaving Saturday evening even-ing for the east ho exacted a promise from his wife that she would write to j him once a month. |
