Show WORLD'S STAR JOCKEY DIES IN HOSPITAL 1 SAN FHANCTSCO. Dec. 5. "Clem" Jenkins, who several seasons ago was recognized as one of the leading iockevs of the world, is dead at the St. Francis hospital from an attack of appendicitis. Ho was 34 years of age. After riding with great snccoss on the local tTacks and around Now York, Jenkins invaded Europe and repeated his American triumphs across the water. He rode for several crowded heads, in- i eluding King Edward and Emperor William. Wil-liam. Ho had no peer as a rider in I Europe Jenkins's record of piloting nineteen winnors in one week still stands, this record being made on the Tanforan track, when Prince Poniatowski was conducting training at that course. |
