Show I! POLICE court cases 1 I Opening testimony in tho caso of J. I W. Woten, the alleged attorney of this i oitv, charged with battery upon tho lo-vear-old daughter of J. G.. Weaver, was heard Saturday forenoon in .Tudgo f. B. Diehl's court. The prosecution , asked for exclusion of all spectators i from tho court room and the defenso objected. After sonic argument, the 1 deienso carried its point and then the 1 girl refused to testify. Tho girl was finally induced to testify as to tho alleged al-leged battery, however, and wept bitterly bit-terly whilo rehearsing tho storj'. Tho complaint reads that tho battery was i-ommitted .Tunc 30, 1907. The caso was continued to Monday. V .Paddy Ryan, star actor in police circles cir-cles at short intervals, and J. II. Con-rod Con-rod were arraigned on the charge of disturbing the peace. The two men were engaged in a row down on West Second South street, near tho Greek quarters, early Saturday morning. Each was fined $10, and up to a late hour Saturday night hod not obtained tho prico for their 1 release from jail.
