Show X0 BODIES FOUND FROM LOST S00 CITY NORTH SYDNEY, C. B.. Dec. o. . The mrster3- surrounding the fato of the steamer Soo City, bound from Chicago Chi-cago to Texas, was intensified today 1)3 tho finding of a number of life belts at Cape Race bearing the name "S. S. Stanley." The belts drifted ashore with similar ones marked "Soo City," and this circumstance has led to the theory that the lake boat was possibly sunk in collision. It is also I suggested that tho life bolts marked J "S. S. Stanlej'" may have been purchased pur-chased at secondhand by the owners of the Soo City when she" was canying excursionists on Lake Michigan. The only steamer named Stanley in Canadian waters is tho government ice-breaking ice-breaking boat, which runs between Chnrlottetowu and Pictou, N. S. Th'at vessel is now in Charlottetown harbor. Small quantities of wreckage continued to drift ashore at Capo Race. No bodies have been found. |
