The most important social affair of Saturday was tho reception at tho Ken-yon Ken-yon hotel, given by tho board of directors direct-ors of the auxiliary of the roadiug room for the blind. Tho rooms were tilled with interested friends, and the reception recep-tion was more than successful. About thirty-five of tho blind woro there, and gave delightful musical and literary numbers, beside showing an exhibit of their needlework, bondwork, and there was also on display the books usod by the blind. Among those who took part in the programmo wcro Miss Marie Hanson, who gavo a piano solo; Mr. Draper a violin solo; J. W. Jenkinsons gavo a talk on tho licet as the blind "saw" it; Mr. Freeman gave a violin solo; Miss Marion Snider gave a recitation; reci-tation; W. A. Hodges "avo a recitation on "Never Too Old to Loam;" Mr. Tiinson gave a song; M. ('. Hanks, a recitation; Mrs. Emma Riches gavo a song; Mr. Lano a piano solo, and Mr. Standing a violin solo.
