Show Happy Birthday, America Happy Birthday America! HOW GRATEFUL 1 am that we can celebrate your 200 years of freedom and that we can enjoy our God-given rights guaranteed in our inspired in-spired Constitution. Let us pause for a moment and think about a birthday present for our nation, some personal thing we could give or do that would be acceptable accepta-ble and endure forever. I HAVE come to the conclusion that the most important im-portant gift we could give would be a renewed dedication dedica-tion by us all; to study the Constitution and learn the intentions in-tentions of our forefathers and do what we can to preserve our rights, so rapidly being lost through our neglect and apathy. This knowledge would then provoke us to action, to become involved in our political poli-tical process. "We should secure and study the Party platforms to determine which one best expresses our moral, ' religious and political philosophy. The time is past when we can take for granted the idea or leanings of our parents or blindly follow an old idea which may not be true. We must search deep and pray for guidance and discernment and exercise our own choice. OUR NEXT action that follows would be to attend the Party Mass Meeting of our choice held on May 17 this year and perhaps to take an . active part in the party. The next action would be to actively engage in electing " 1 good men to otuce. we can help financially and by giving hours of service, remembering remember-ing to give generously as we have many years to make up for. LET US not then relax and say our work is done but continue con-tinue to watch what our officials of-ficials are doing and be quick to praise and also sound our criticisms. We may not change the nation na-tion or world but we just might make our little light shine and even reflect much farther. HAPPY Birthday America! And many, many more. Kathryn R.
