Show Bountiful By BERTHA L. MUIR 295-3742 The Golden Years Orchestra, Orches-tra, directed by Marvin Strong, presented a patriotic program Saturday at the ZCMI auditorium. They olayed many popular and patriotic pa-triotic numbers. The Beesley sisters quartet sang three selections accompanied accom-panied at the piano by their father, Horace Beesley. This program was given for the itate convention of senior citizens. ci-tizens. The convention was held two days at the Salt Palace. Many delegates from the state were in attendance. Twenty-five delegates from the Golden Spike division of the American Red Cross will attend the national convention of the American Red Cross to be held in Portland, Ore. that began on Sunday May 9. Mrs. Ruby M. Layton entertained enter-tained Mrs. Archie Hale and Mrs. Ray Lee on Saturday May 8 at a birthday luncheon. Mr. and Mrs. Max Muir of Brigham City cooked a Mother's Day dinner for Mrs. Bertha Muir and the Hess family at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Wallace E. Hess, Michael, Linda and Julie on Friday afternoon. Mrs. Estrella Moore is reported to be recovering from a recent illness and has returned home. She has been in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Rosemary McGregor and her mother, Mrs. Marie Schmidt and Mrs. Margaret Ledingham visited Mrs. Bertha Muir at the home of Dr. and Mrs. W.E. Hess last Wednesday. Mrs. Schmidt, mother of Mrs. McGregor has been a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mac McGregor for the past 10 days. She will visit another daughter in Citrus Heights, Calif, before returning return-ing to her home in Salem, South Dakota. Mrs. lona Hoeppner of Salt Lake City and eight children spent Mother's Day with her mother, Mrs. Thelma Snider. Mrs. Ann Burningham has been hospitalized in the South Davis Hospital the past week. Mrs. WildaBluemelishome . from the hospital after a week's stay. Be sure to come to the bingo game at the Post Home of the American Legion. Troy Young will conduct the games and refreshments will be served. Time is 7:30 p.m. Saturday May 15 a tea will be held for citizens of Girl State from District two. This will be held at the Legion Post Home from 2-4 p.m. Mrs. Judy Oar is chairman. All Girl Staters and their parents are urged to attend as well as anyone interested in the Girl State program. On Friday May 14, delegates from District Two of the American Legion will meet at the Elks home in Roy. Social hour will be at 6:30 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and meeting at 8 p.m. |
