Show Golden Years Events Members 01 the uolden Years Center take this opportunity oppor-tunity to congratulate their director and her husband, Lee H. Stauffer, who were married on April 29. Mr. Stauffer is City Administrator of South Ogden. THE CENTER is fortunate in having Leo and Ardus Williams serving as chairman and cc-chairman of the volunteer volun-teer Friendly Visitor and Telephone Reassurance program. Their awareness of the needs of the elderly, plus their dedication to this program, makes them a great asset to the Center. We are very proud to have this fine couple with the Center. THE MONTHLY ceramic workshop which is conducted by LaMarr Hart has been postponed from May 17 to Monday, May 24 at 9:30 a.m. The final luncheon of the season will be held at Viewmont View-mont High School on May 20 at 1:30 p.m. We will be looking forward to seeing many of you on that date but call the Center by May 17 for reservations. The great senior citizen Hawaiians of Salt Lake City will provide the entertainment, entertain-ment, with Ron Barlow and Grant Peterson. MAY 24 at 1:30 p.m. there will be an outstanding travelogue given by Edna Peterson. Pe-terson. This is a program on Mexico, plan to attend. If you are interested in volunteer work and want to be part of the team in helping our elderly in South Davis, please call the Center, for you are needed to assist. THE LAGOON Theatre is once again presenting the summer plays in the Opera House, the first being May 28. There are a few tickets left, first come first served at $5 for the season. Stop in to see the beautiful queen size quilt which is the project of the Center for the building fund. Dora Jones has donated her time and talent in making this beautiful blue and white quilt. We are asking for 50 cent donation for tickets. WITH THE five day tour to Lake Powell now on the way, we have made plans for a J une trip to Heber Valley to ride the Heber Creeper to Bridal Veil Falls. Then board a bus for a scenic drive through Provo Canyon up to Sundance for dinner and a show. The complete package includes the bus. the Heber Creeper ride, dinner and show all for $17 50. The trip is scheduled for June 23. so make reservations reserva-tions right away by calling 295-3479. There will be a dinner party at the Red Flame before going to the Lagoon Opera on June 29. A roast beef dinner will be served for J4 which includes tax and tip. Reservations must be made early, so call the Center if you wish to be included in this pre-show dinner party.kj |
