Show Dlood Pressure: Chech The Utah Slate Division of Health is sponsoring High Blood Pressure Month in Utah during May. Seventeen other agencies and organizations are planning and coordinating coor-dinating with the Division of Health to provide interested Utah residents with blood pressure screening and follow-up. HIGH BLOOD pressure is a leading cause of death and disability in Utah. About half of the Utahns who have high blood pressure are unaware they have it, and only a small portion, approximately 12.5 percent, have their high blood pressure under control. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to stroke, heart failure, and kidney damage. Davis County Public Health nurses will be providing free blood pressure checks at the Bountiful Library Auditorium, 725 South Main, Bountiful, Utah, on Friday,' May 14, from 12:30 to 5 p.m., and at the Clearfield Library Auditorium, 562 South 1000 East, Clearfield, Utah, on Friday, May 28, from 12:30 to 5 p.m. 1 |
