Show Mlto Pieces To Coniform-To Goto out Du no D OoBes By DAVE WIGHAM Ted Petersen from Maple Hills developers appeared before the Bountiful council members Wednesday and pledged his company's full support to comply with all of the city ordinances and laws. THIS CAME at a time when the council members have been displeased with some of the actions in Maple Hills. Especially noted was the fire hazard that has developed in the area. It seems that when the developers had cleared away brush and debris to make a-road a-road they just piled it all up and caused a great fire danger in the area. Mr. Petersen Pe-tersen indicated to the council that they had made some personnel changes in the company and that they are now anxious to get back on the city's good side. THE CITY reported that they had received a phone call from the State Fire Marshal's office indicating that the city shouldn't allow any burning in the area, unless it was a dedicated street. They went on to say that they felt it wasn't a dedicated street until the public was using it. City officials pointed out that it becomes a dedicated street when the final plat for the subdivision is approved. The state office then held a short discussion and called the city back and indicated they would go along with that ideas as long as the only burning in the hills was the waste from clearing the road and no more. AT THEIR last meeting the city council had given the Maple Hills people until May 15 to get rid of the fire danger, but Mr. Petersen informed in-formed the council that this was too short of time period to bring all the debris down. The council then granted him a two week extension giving him until May 30 to have the area cleared. The city officials informed the council that they were pleased with the work and efforts ef-forts of the developers in the last week, stating that much of the debris has been either moved or burned, dw |
