THIS IS what some students from Bountiful High are doing do-ing with their electronics class. Each day 10 T&I Elec-I Elec-I ironies students take two ' hours out of their regular I school day to wire a nearby house for area owners. Their labor is free, but it helps each "electrician" to , experience what a real life 'situation would be ljke.The i apprentices, taught by George Sieb, have wired three major dwellings and two basements. OWNERS OF these houses are responsible for buying the needed supplies. Members of the class and possible future electricians are: Mark Bridge, Chuck Smith, Bob Svee, Mike McAllister, Kent Ahleen, Dan Newman, Don Shelby, Steve Francis, Stan White and Dale Wright. On the sports scene, all of BHS spring sports are in final state playoff games. STEVE JENKINS. Bountiful High's advanced electronics class house project. The students have electrically wired five houses this year. Bountiful High in the state track meet being held next week. Each of these individuals in-dividuals earned his place in state from placing in the region meet last Thursday. Bountiful's soccer squad played against No. 1 ranked West last Saturday at the Utah State Fairgrounds before Utah's pro soccer team the Golden Spikers battled against New York. Both home town teams lost. Although outplayed most of the second half. West managed a 1-0 victory vic-tory in thewind-blown contest. con-test. Bountiful lost Tuesday to Provo in second round consolation con-solation action with an identical iden-tical 1-0 score. STATE TENNIS finals are also being held next week with the second place in Region II Braves qualifying several performers. Jeff Clarkson and Lee Erickson are both going to state for their singles play. Doubles partners Derek Sommer-Mike Wyatt and Bob Bennett-Kelly Devereaux represent BHS hopes for a doubles championship. FRED HALE was the hero in the Braves' 5-2 triumph over Ben Lomond in baseball pre-state tournament playoff action last Tuesday. Hale hurled 7 strong innings and hit a towering grand slam home run to help his cause. The victory allows Bountiful Boun-tiful to play the Skyline-Cot-tonwood winner in a best of three series within the week. The winner of this set is guaranteed a state tournament tour-nament berth. TODAY THE entire school took part in the "Anything Goes . . . Almost" contest patterned after the TV show. The event allowed each first period class to compete against each other in zany relays such as: "Seminary Celestial Chase," "Waite's Water Workout," or the "Magnificent Mangus Marathon" named after our own vice principal Ben Mangus. Man-gus. Some future notes for Braves and Squaws are: Senior Breakfast, May 25, Swan Song Assembly, May 24, Senior Banquet, May 21, and Graduation (finally) on May 26. |
