Show Kiwanis Creates Fountains Bountiful City Corporation has an ambitious project of making Parks and Recreation facilities available to all residents. The Kiwanis Club, in cooperation with this idea, has agreed to furnish materials and labor to build drinking fountains at each of the ball diamonds, tennis courts and city parks. LAST FALL the Kiwanians dug the drains and footings, poured the concrete (donated by the Davis County Ready-mix), Ready-mix), and did the finish work on foundations for two of the, vandalism-proof, fountains at the 18th South Recreation Area. Now that spring has returned re-turned to beautiful Bountiful, construction on the fountains has resumed and the brick work and plumbing is completed on one fountain, and the pipe laid to two of them. THE BALL diamond and tennis courts are in full use now, and it was observed that many of the players are working up a sweat already and looking around for a place to gel a cool drink of water. Hang in there for a few more days and there will be fountains with running water wherever, in Bountiful, you choose to play. |
