Show Victims Of Flu For those who are still skeptical skep-tical about the danger of the new flu virus on its way to America (expected next winter), it's well to recall what happened when the last similar flu virus spread itself over the world--in 1918 and 1919. WORLD WAR I began in the summer of 1914 and lasted more than four years. The carnage of death was staggering, stagger-ing, especially in the trenches of France, and forever changed the western world. Yet in the war's last year the flu virus appeared and in 1919 claimed more lives than were lost by all the armies in the four years of war! |
