Show exception Honors Couple Wed In Logan Temple A lovely summer social event was the wedding reception recep-tion on Thursday evening of the past week at the" Fourth Ward church complimenting newlyweds. Mr. nnd Russell Ardocn Chuds, who were married Wednesday, August 11, in the Logan temple. Witnessing the marriage ceremony cere-mony were the parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. Cornell Mendonhall and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Childs, also jlr. and Mrs. Lamar Crandall. After Af-ter the temple rites, an uncle and aunt of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. FlPVd Cornaby entertained for the wedding party at a dinner at their home in Logan. ' The bride, formerly Miss Nida Mendenhall of this city, chose for her wedding attire, a beautiful white satin model entrain, designed design-ed with fitted bodice and tiers of tinv scallops at the waist and hemline. Her veil was of silk net with lace edging and arranged to a head-piece of orange blossoms. She carried a lovely bouquet centered with- an orchid and encircled en-circled with tiny bride's roses and stephanottis with a shower of white satin ribbon with tiny rosebud rose-bud knots. Her attendants were Miss Marilyn Mari-lyn Whitney, maid of honor; Del-ores Del-ores C. Crandall, matron of honor; hon-or; Miss Mary Elaine Mendenhall of Richfield, Miss Lynette Madsen, Miss Mary Mendenhall, Miss Beverly Bev-erly Childs and Miss Carolee Childs, bridesmaids. They wore pastel colored formals and carried nosegays in corresponding colors. Paul Ence was best man. Also in the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. Mendenhall and Mr and Mrs. Childs. Mrs. Mendenhall wore acqua and Mrs. Childs, pink crepe each with a corsage of pink begonias. Acting as hosts and hostesses at the reception were Mr. and Mrs. J. Y. Bearnson and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Cornaby, the latter of Spanish Span-ish Fork. The grandmothers, Mrs. EUa Reynolds and Mrs. F. M. Cornaby of Spanish Fork, were in charge of the guest book. A delightful program was given during the evening under direction of Robert Mendenhall, and included includ-ed vocal numbers by Mrs. Lela Schultz of Raines; Mrs. Lela Packard, Mrs. Catherine D. Wills, Mrs. Evelyn Boyer, Miss Dorothy Holley, Tom Medenhall of Richfield; Rich-field; Wm. Schreiner and Grant Clyde. Mrs. Vera Zobell and Mrs. Melba Wheeler gave a vocal duet and string music was furnished during the evening by a string ensemble en-semble composed of Mrs. Eileen Bird, Mrs. Inez Jessee, Mrs. Thora Johnson, Mrs. Carol C. Kreth and Mrs. Mary Bird. Accompanists for the various numbers included Mrs. Betty Sumsion, Mrs. Mary Bird, Miss Mary Elaine Mendenhall and Miss Dorothy Cranmer. Serving vas at small tables, each centered with a miniature bouquet of old-fashioned flowers in pink and white. The attractive color scheme was further carried out in the gorgeous bouquets of pink and white gladiolus and other late summer flowers arranged about the hall. Refreshments and gift arrangements arrange-ments were under direction of Mrs. Odessa Mendenhall, Mrs. Howard Sumsion, Mrs. Erwin Anderson, Mrs. Zella Evans of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Eva Hill of Payson, assisted by Afton Maycock, Betty Hoover and Lucille Mendenhall. A 'arge group of girl friends of the bride served. The couple are now at home in Mapleton. '. : |
