Show jSouthwest Utah Power jFederation reorganizes j On May 5, a meeting was held in the Cedar City public ! Library by the Southwest ! Utah Power Federation. To I elect an executive board, I and seven directors for that newly reorganized 1 organization. The seven directors elected were; Carl Palmer ) of the Southern Utah ; Citizens for fair power, Leon I Bowler of the Dixie En- terprise Rural Electric ) Association, John Vaughn of i the Kanab city power board, ; Rudger McArthur director I of utilities for the city of St. George, Louie Tong of the Cedar City Power Board, j Clinton Bowler of En-' En-' terprise, representing the pumpers, and Jan Graff mayor of Santa Clara. The executive board elected by the seven directors was as follows: Carl Palmer chairman of the board, Leon Bowler vice president, and John Vaughn executive secretary. The newly adopted articles ar-ticles of incorporation were presented to those in attendance at-tendance by Carl Palmer and Leon Bowler. The articles ar-ticles were drawn up by George Fadel, a Bountiful attorney, and former mayor of that city. Fadel is the attorney for the In-termountain In-termountain Consumer Power Association, ICPA. Also in attendance was Joe Melling of the Four Corners Administration, numerous mayors, council members, and power board members from around the area. Southern Utah Citizens for Fair Power was represented by Carl Palmer, John Plestina of Cedar City, and Doran Fox, Washington County Director of that organization. Joe Melling of the Four Corners Administration said his organization can lend money to the Southwest Utah Power Federation to conduct an areawide feasibility study to coincide with Cedar City's feasibility study. The cost of the areawide feasibility study will be approximately $25,000.00. The Salt Lake Firm of Ford, Bacon, and Davis will conduct both feasibility studies. |
