Show The Council adopted a resolution accepting the terms of the license. -The Council authorized the County to disjpose of the old jail facility at its disgression, participating only in the 2-5 which is the city's interest in the building. -The Council discussed the site which Steve Ap-plegate Ap-plegate has situated his gravel curshing unit. The Council authorized the Recorder to notify Mr. Applegate that he would have one year from the date of the original approval in which to resituate the unit. PAROWAN - The proposal by Utah Satellite Cable TV Company was reviewed and approved by the Parowan City Council Wednesday. Jim Key, representing the company, was present to discuss the possible problems involved in the use of present electric poles. The franchise agreement the city and Utah Satellite as presented was approved. Kenneth Neuman, representing Burrows and Smith Bonding Company, was present to review with the Council the legal procedures involved and schedule of events leading to the proposed Water Improvement Im-provement Bond Election to be held May 23. Councilman Benson reported that the Utah DOT would soon begin engineering of the proposed sidwalk project in the city. He indicated that as soon as the engineering is complete, contractors can be notified to begin the project. The Council discussed the water rights issue between the Reservoir Company and the city. Mayor Robinson reported that a copy of the city's proposal had been delivered to the company for review. Also discussed was the water exchange proposal by Gurr Farms Company. The Council discussed the proposal of Sherman Dalton to take over the garbage pickup service in Parowan. Attorney Isom presented a contract for the Council's review. The Council approved ap-proved proceeding with negotiations with Dalton regarding the contract. In other business: -- Councilwoman Bentley reviewed the progress to date on the proposed Medical Center. She reported that those involved in this project had officially incorporated as the Little Salt Lake Clinic Corporation. Cor-poration. She indicated that they will request property from the city, either at the first proposed site in the north part of town or on city-owned city-owned property west of the cemetery. Meetings being held to consider the possibility of an industrial park were also discussed. -City Recorder Dennis Lowder reported that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission had recently issued a license for the Paragonah Power Plant. |
