Show Airport Bond Ordinance Cedar City, Utah The City Council of Cedar City. Iron County, Utah, mot in rcgu-. lar session at its regular meeting meet-ing place in the Public Safety ( Building in said city at 7:30 o'clock o'-clock p. m. on the 6th day of December, De-cember, 19G2, with the following members present, to-wit: Kumen Gardner, Mayor Sam Gentry, Councilman Norman Heaton, Councilman Frank J. Petty, Councilman Lowell Sherratt, Councilman Roy P. Urie, Councilman There was also present: Ellen A. Simkins, City Recorder After the meeting had been duly called to order and the minutes min-utes of the preceding meeting read and approved, the following ordinance was introduced in writing, writ-ing, was read in full and pursuant pursu-ant to motion duly made by Lowell Lo-well Sherratt, and seconded by Sam Gentry, was adopted by the following vote: AYE: Sam Gentry Norman Heaton Frank J. Petty Lowell Sherratt Roy P. Urie. NAY: None The ordinance was then signed sign-ed by the Mayor In open meeting, meet-ing, recorded by the City Recorder Recor-der and ordered published in the Iron County Record, a newspaper of general circulation published in Cedar City, Utah, and qualified quali-fied to carry legal notices under the laws of the State of Utah. The ordinance is as follows: ORDINANCE NUMBER AN ORDINANCE proriding for the holding of a special election elec-tion In Cedar City. Utah, for the purpose oi submitting to the qualified taxpaying electors elect-ors thereof the questions of the Issuance of $100,000 Airport Bonds of said City. WHEREAS Cedar City desires to improve and extend its exist-inn exist-inn airport and appurtenant facilities, fa-cilities, including the realignment realign-ment and surfacing of runways WHEREAS said city does not have on hand money to pay for such improvements and extensions, exten-sions, and the City Council has determined to defray the cost thereof through the Issuance of $100,000 Airport Bonds of said City; and WHEREAS it is desired to submit sub-mit the question of the issuance of such bonds to the vote of the qualified taxpaying electors ! the City; m . NOW, THEREFORE, Be It and It Is Hereby Ordained by the City Council of Cedar City, Iron County, Coun-ty, Utah, as follows: Section 1. That on the 5th day of February, 1963. there shall be held a special election between the hours of 7:00 o'clock a. m. and 8:00 o'clock p. m., at which there shall be submitted to such qualified electors of said City as shall have paid a property tax in the year preceding such election the proposition appearing in the form of ballot set out in Section 4 hereof. Section 2. That the voting places for sa'.i election and the officials to serve at such voting places shall ti those specified set out in Section 3 hereof. Section 3. That notice of said election shall be given by publishing pub-lishing the following notice of election once a week for not less than five consecutive weeks tn the Iron County Record, a newspaper news-paper of general circulation pur-lished pur-lished in Cedar City; and such notice shall further be given by the posting by the registration agent of each regularly established estab-lished election district in at least five conspicuous places within his district at least five days prior to the date fixed for said election, (that is, on or before 5th of February, 1963.) ELECTION NOTICE TO ALL QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF CEDAR CITY, UTAH Take notice that on the 5th day of February, 1963, an election will be held in Cedar City, Utah, at the places set out below for the purpose of submitting to such qualified electors -of said city as shall have paid a property tax therein during the year preceding said election, the following proposition: prop-osition: PROPOSITION "Shall negotiable coupon general gen-eral obligation bonds of Cedar City, Utah, in the sum of $100,-000, $100,-000, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed six per cent (6) per annum and due and payable paya-ble In not to exceed 30 years from the date of said bonds be Issued and sold for the purpose of defraying the cost of improving improv-ing and extending Its existing Airport and appurtenant facilities facili-ties Including the realignment realign-ment and surfacing of runways?" run-ways?" Said election will be held at the following polling places and the person Indicated as follows will act as election officials: Voting District Polling Places 1 to 4 City and County Building 63 East Lincoln Avenue 5 to 14 College of Southern Utah Fleldhouse Annex on South 550 West Street between West Center Street and West 200 South Street. The polls will be open from 7:00 a. n. to 8:00 p. m. Notice U further given that on Monday, 11, February, 1963, that being the first Monday after said election, the City Council will meet at its regular meeting place in the Public Safety Building, Cedar City, Utah at 12:00 o'clock noon, and canvass the returns and declare the results of said election. That the ballots to be used at the bond election shall comply in all respects with the requirements of Section 5 of Chapter 7 of Title 20 of the Utah Code Annotated, 1953, and shall be in substantially the following form. Utah, In the sum of $100,- 000, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed six per cent (6) per annum and due and payable pay-able in not to exceed 30 years from the date of said bonds be Issued and sold for the purpose of defraying the cost of Improving Im-proving and extending its existing ex-isting airport and appurtenant facilities. For the issuance YES of general obligation airport bonds NO To vote in favor of the bpnds mentioned in the foregoing proposition place a cross (X) in the square after the word "Yes" opposite such proposition. That immediately after its adoption this ordinance shall be signed by the Mayor and City Recorder, shall be re corded in a book kept for that purpose and shall be published in the Iron County Record, a newspaper of general circulation published in Cedar City. Utah, and qualified to carry legal notices no-tices under the laws of the Stat? of Utah. An emergency is hereby declared and ordained that this ordinance shall take immediate effect, the preservation of the peace, health and safety of Cedar City so requiring.
