Show Holiday Ragtime Tourney Sees Lively Action I First week end of play in the Holiday Ragtime Bowling tourna- j ment produced some lively scores, I it was reported by Byron Anderson, Ander-son, secretary of the sponsoring Iron County Bowling Association. Mel Adams took an early lead In the All-events with a 1718; however, he was one of the first to complete all of the events to tabulate his scratch scores in each. In the team event it was Adam's Bombs taking the lead with a 3008 series, which includes in-cludes handicaps. Close behind were the Hobos with a 2848. Members of t ie Adam's Bombs are Grant Seegmiller, Gordon Twitchell, Mel Adams, Dudley Alger and Vurge Smith. In the series, Grant Seegmiller put to- gether 13 strikes. Only one prob-I prob-I lem, they were divided into two i games. It still helped produce the top effort thus far. In the doubles events Richard Cripps and Roger Parry hold the early lead with 1222, including handicap. Behind them with a 1206 are Gordon Twitchell and Mel Adams with Grant Seegmiller Seegmil-ler and Mel Adams in third with a 1187. j Mel Adams holds the lead in I the singles with a 658 series, including in-cluding handicap. He is followed by Richard Cripps, 654; George Haycock, 640; Bill Dover, 638; Ed Miller, 624; Jerry Eyman, 618 and Logan Carr, 615. The tournament continues through Thursday, January 1. Final signup is 12 midnight on January 1. Over $500 in cash prizes is expected ex-pected to be awarded for top handicap scores in each event. Trophies will be awarded for the be:t scratch efforts. |
