Show Parowan Matron Dies, Services Conducted Mrs. Elizabeth J. Gilger Heap, 71, long time resident of Parowan, Paro-wan, died Sunday evening at the Iron County Hospital following a lingering illness. She had spent the past several weeks at a rest home in St. George but was brought -to the hospital a few days before her passing. Funeral services are being conducted for her today, Thursday, Thurs-day, at 2 p. m. in the Third Ward chapel, under the direction of Bishop Charles H. Gurr. Burial will be in the family plot in the Farowan City cemetery. The body will be at the family fam-ily home today after 11 a. m. and until the time of services. The deceased was born Dec. 31 1980, at Yates Center. Kan., a daughter of Eva J. Leibert and Elmer Wallace Gilger. She attended at-tended the Kansas schools and later studied In Idaho and at the University of Utah. . She was a convert to the LDS Church when 14 years of age. She has since been very active In the auxiliary organizations, serving on the board of the Parowan Par-owan Stake Sunday School and as a teacher in that organization, organiza-tion, and also the Primary and Relief Society organizations. She served as librarian In the Parowan Paro-wan Public Library for many years. She married Vernon V. Heap on Feb. 9, 1916 at Spry, Utah.l and the marriage was later sol-1 emnlzed In the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Heap died In 1955. Surviving are one son, Ora L. Heap, Salt Lake City; two grandchildren grand-children whom she reared, Garon Heap, Salt Lake City and Miss Marna Heap, Parowan. She is also al-so survived by four other grand-I grand-I sons, five great-grandchildren, ,the following brothers and sisters: sis-ters: Mrs. R. A. (Ruth Cook. Idaho Ida-ho Falls. Ida.; Hugh.
