Show PHI ALPHA SIGMA During the last meeting of the Phi Alpha Sigma sorority election elec-tion of new officers took place with Afton (Jo) Hartman bein;-named bein;-named as president and Claudia Macfarlane elected vice presi dent Mamie Eck and Ora Smith will serve as program coordinator coordinat-or and membership chairmen, respectively. re-spectively. This is the second year that Miss Smith has been elected to the position of membership mem-bership chairman. Officers will appoint a secretary-treasurer in the near future. Following the election, and a delicious repast prepared by Shirley Ence and Mary Lunt, the group was entertained enter-tained by Florence Cardon who related three short stories, 'The Portable phonograph", by Walter Van Tilburg Clark; 'The Birthday Birth-day Party", by Catherine Brush, and "Dry Rock" by Erwin Shaw. The April social took place at the home of Leta Cowley. Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Mes-slnger Mes-slnger have enjoyed the company com-pany of Mrs. Messinger's mother, moth-er, Mrs. Effie Marshall of Mln-ersville. Mln-ersville. Mrs. Marshall spent three day In Cedar City with the Messingers and another son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Hunt Monday she was accompanied back to Miners ville by family members who joined other relatives there to celebrate three different birthday anniversaries. |
