Show "PINFALL" to Bowling Lanes Vfli All-stat Bowling Duke Gordon won the King of !tb- Hill title In competition in Top Star Bowling Saturday by posting a 630 series, an average of 210 per game. He beat out Dudley A'ger with a 524 for the title. In competition this week Mike Hulet ta..es on the challenger posting with a six game series of 1208. He will meet Gordon in the All Star Finals this Saturday. Thursday Couples Dorothy Heap had th high women's scores in the Thursday Night Couples league this past week. She had the top game of 189 and posted a series of 495. Top scores in the men's section were divided, with Vlrg Smith posting the top game of 222. Close behind was Dudley Alger with a 221 and Alger added a 214 and 187 to top the series scores with a 622. Dick Urie was in the high game competition with a 217. Monday Couples Harold Boyce came up on top in the Monday Night Couples League with a 587 series which Included the top game of 230. Nyle Miller posted a 220 game in the week's action. In the women's section LaPriel Anderson had the top scores all the way, with a 199 high game and a fine 556 series. Rainbow League Some changes were made in the Rainbow League action this week, but not in the leadership of the league. Iron County Lumber Lum-ber remained atop the league standing, but the Department of Highways team came up with the top scores in the team competition com-petition with a 919 game and 2649 series. Members of the team are Cliff Reese, Don Nielson, Doug Haycock, Randy Rosenberg and Bob Hullck. Top individual series of the evening was a 592 by Grant Seegmiller and a number of high games were posted, led by Doug Haycock with a 235. Others included in-cluded a 223 by Leo Cahoon, a 222 by Larry Fretwell and a 220 by Virg Smith. Southern Association In the Southern Association League the battle still rages for the lead in the high average bowling competition. During the week many high scores were rolled, including 11 games over the 220 mark and four 600 series. Bill Dover had the high series of 632 which Included In-cluded games of 233 and 225. The top single game, however, was a 244 by Mike Hulet and he ended up with a 626 series. Other high scores included: a 235 game by Charles Brazier, a 234 game by Red Dover, a 231 game and 607 series by Wes Higbee, a 230 game by Randy Rosenberg, a 226 and 220 game by Dudley Alger, a 226 game by Duke Gordon, a 221 game and 626 series by Job Mil-and Mil-and a 221 game by Mel Adam. In the team competition Circus Louge wiped out all competition with a 951 game and a 2770 series. Members of the team are Dick Cripps, Byron Anderson, Randy Rosenberg, Mike Hulet, and Dick Urie. |
