Show Parowan Lions Club Host District, Zone "D" Officials Members of the Lions Club met last Thursday evening at the Parowan Cafe. Meeting with the club was Wendell McGarry, District Dis-trict Governor, of Mantl, who was making his official visit to clubs in the district Other special guests at the meeting included John Mc Garry, Zone D chairman; Bryner Wood and Niels Nielsen, members of the Escalante Valley Lions Club, and Edmond Smith, Hampton Burke and Fred O'Leary, of Mil-ford. Mil-ford. It was decided by the members mem-bers that they would assist the city beautlflcation committee with the cleanup campaign on agreed to furnish labor toward helping clean up and landscape the area around the new municipal munici-pal swimming pool. Clarence Benson, Jr. was named as chairman chair-man of a committee to plan an anniversary party for the club and he will choose members to work on his committee Four members of the club were also presented awards for their work in the club during the past year. Key members awards were presented to Lions Ramon Bent-ley, Bent-ley, Dr. David Wilkerson, Don Applegate and Ronald Morten-sen. Morten-sen. To win these awards these men have each brought two new members into the club and they have been active for one year and one day. Glen Halterman and Dr. Wilkerson Wil-kerson were presented with "clutch" awards. These men each brought a new member into the club during the month of March which was national membership month. The next meeting will be held on May 13 and at that time awards will be presented to 17 members who have achieved 100 attendance during the past year. |
