Show First Brian Head Ski Carnival Is Highly Successful It may not have been the largest lar-gest parade we have ever seen here, but those who did see it will tell you that It was one of the most humorous and entertaining enter-taining parades we have seen In a long time. We are talking about the first annual Brian Head Ski Carnival I Parade held on Parowan's Main lslr Saturday. April 24. Manv business houses,, dubs, the high school, private groups and Paro wan City entered floats in the parade with the Parowan High School band furnishing the music mu-sic for the event. The parade was the beginning of a full day of activities, and following it the interest moved to the ski slopes at Brian Head Ski Resoit in Parowan Canyon where many types of races were held. In the funny costume race prizes were awaided. First place went to Wanda Benson, who received a pair of head skis. For second place Adrian Bunting received a pair of hea dpoles and for third place Debra McCannon received a pair ol A & T poles. In the evening the activities moved to the high school tennis o and high school gym ewhertruc court and gymnasium where a Hootenanny and other activities were held. Chairman for the event was Mrs. Laura Walker and working with her was Ralph Orton, Dr. David Wilkerson, Bruce Decker. Bryce Adams and Mr. and Mrs. Caudell Orton. These people wish to express their thanks for the co-operation of the people of Parowan Par-owan in making this activity so successful and promise bigger and better things In the coming years. |
